Jim Ward was the heart of that band, and wrote most of the good songs. Cedric and Omar leaving to do Mars Volta became a masturbatory jam band after the first album. They all screwed Jim over when the "reunion" came around and he wasn't invited, truly despicable shithead behaviour. 3rd wave postpunk posthardcore was the last gasp of something original in rock trying to come up to the mainstream but the purist indie fucks had to self sabotage like they always do rather get their hands a little dirty bringing something genuinely good to a wider audience.
