well i'm not the biggest fan of raisins either but usually when you soak raisins in a liquid, it's meant to impart the liquid's flavor on the raisins and rehydrate them for use somewhere... not to make the liquid taste like raisins... especially considering that sweet tokaji is already made from raisins
so i don't see the point of using raisins at all
it's cringe and unwieldly and best left in the past. must be one of your anachronisms like still using margarin
