But even if they lied about how much was needed to make it, we already know it takes less computational power to get an answer than currently available solutions, so just on this basis alone it's already quite big. Random people are already able to use it quite easily on their hardware, you need buffed up machines, but nowhere near what was needed before, which was impossible as an individual and only possible through a company. And also, as already said, open source, which won't help the current business plans of the known actors. Which might just be the biggest short-term blow, cutting grass under the feet without warning.
