Despite growing up in 90s, I witnessed a lot of old tech. It's like we're behind the rest of the world in many regards, even reaching about a decade lag time on some. I was about 10 before I even saw a cellphone for the first time. And a couple years later we got cell service. I only got on the internet when I was about 15 - it was only Dial-up at the time. You had to buy those time cards at the phone place.
Nowadays this time gap is much smaller, but you can still see it happen with things like shitty internet trends. Remember fidget spinners? Those came here too, just months later. I wonder if kids will pick up dabbing sometime soon.
