>A group of Russian astronauts find a planet that is inhabited with another species that look nearly identical to humans. Their culture looks identical to Medieval Europe before the renaissance. They visit the planet disguised as Pagan gods to witness their renaissance. The pagan denizens of the planet start killing off all holy men and intellectuals, so the renaissance never occurs. The film follows astronaut Don Rumata (in found footage style) as he abuses his pagan god disguise to gain power and influence over the planet.
