Then suddenly there are 200 million people from the same continent popping up everywhere who don't speak spanish or english and americans are forced to share servers in online games with them, interacting with broken ass english. You can't even group them with the rest of south america because they don't speak spanish either, so game devs hate them too. They are in social media asking famous people to go to their country, one guys posts a picture of a monkey soup to his facebook and there's your hook to finally let out your frustration... and the rest is history.
