>>16089586I fucked up, Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates, not Saudi Arabia, but close enough. Your points still stand. In fact, they outright said as much. The Line is a huge city designed to house millions of people, but it's actually just one part of a larger megacity that they want to build called Neom, the primary reason being for tourism, basically it sounds like Saudia Arabia wants to make its own Dubai.
Neom and Dubai would be on opposite sides of the Arabian Peninsula. Neom would be on the coast of the Red Sea, and I was almost going to say that makes it a more attractive option for tourists visiting places like Egypt, but I don't know how prohibitive the prices in places like Dubai are, so if it mostly attracts the ultra-wealthy, then the difference in cost to visit Dubai or Neom would be negligible. But I feel like touristy places in general would also want to be able to attract the less wealthy as well so they can have more clients, so maybe Dubai has affordable attractions as well. I don't know. Either way, yeah, like you said, it's not going to revolutionize the world or anything. It's just going to be another tourist attraction and they're still going to treat the lower class like shit.
I'd say more but I'm going to sleep now. Good night, have a nice day.
