its because they know that the Torah is a jew supremacist book and they are envious of the jews, so they try to steal their identity.
even the new testement is heavily in favour of jews, although gentiles are also included by the spirit of adoption. They are still not the natural branches tho, so they are grafted into the tree but they are out of place. They really need to adopt the jewish traditions and law otherwise they will be replaced by the natural branches
