In all seriousness it's kind of odd isn't it. For the first couple years we always just pointed fingers at some specific group. We had a new boogeyman every week, whether it be gayposters, an*Mefags, wojakspammers, cumbenis or whoever. Nowadays we're willing to bear with those kind of shitposters so long as we'd still have them here. The problem is that we simply don't have enough posters to facilitate the kind of posting that this board is accustomed to; ie: shit.. Having to wait 10 mins to an hour for some scripted one word response like 'based' makes the shitposting lose a lot of its novelty, not that it had much left anyways. We also don't have enough posters anymore to keep back the flood of /pol/.
Additionally, it's not like we can counteract this by actually making worthwhile but infrequent posts because of the fact that we're a random board. We've already seen before that shitposting takes precedent over OC or anything else any day of the week. If we were a board with a topic maybe this would be different. In that case we'd always have something to discuss and it would also act as an object for content creation, but as we are now shitposting is just the path of least resistance, especially for the disillusioned old retards that still hang around the site like rotten grapes still clinging to the vine. We can't even gain any new posters either because once they realize that shitposting is all we have to offer they leave pretty quickly. The people left on this board are the stockholm syndrome laden old posters and the current laundry cycle rotation of new posters who come in and leave soon after.
