She didn't know all that much about jewellery but this looked expensive and more precious than she could ever possibly deserve. Amy took a breath and transferred Sapphire's ring from her left to her right hand, then slowly slipped the new ring onto her left hand, as expected of Colby Jefferson there were no mistakes, it fit perfectly.
She gazed up at Colby who was smiling sweetly but noticeably shuffling expectantly, it seemed she might've been expecting a more immediate response as there was a slight furrowing of her brow that suggested she was thinking and thinking fast. Amy thought about everything they'd been though together, the triumphs, the tragedies, the defeats and the victories, it simultaneously felt like a long time and no time at all, even during the worst of times Colby had been there, she was undoubtedly her rock.
And yet.
>"Colby, I..."Amy felt her cheeks growing hotter and her eyes beginning to sting.
