We’re overly inclusive now and allow actually perverse and disturbed people to dictate our social structures.
Wish we could find a better balance since there are a lot of things people were (and sometimes still are) ostracized for like being gay, short, ugly, etc. Those things don’t affect your ability to be a good person to be around.
But now we allow people who are insufferable and malicious to imbed with otherwise functional friend groups for fear of being called transphobic, ableist, etc. This is part of why so many loudly trans people are insufferable. It’s not that they’re trans. It’s that nobody will call them out on their bullshit *because* they’re trans.
