One serves a practical role, and the other serves a "vanity" role. There cannot be order without practice, but practical application alone gets tiring and it's good to have some vanity mixed in, even if vanity by itself is worthless.
So if I were to be honest, my only real role here is to be married to God as His bride.
Otherwise, I think the purpose of relationships is for all beings to respect what they are - and sex is overrated, it's only purpose is for the sake of reproduction, and immortal beings have no need for it.
There isn't even a need for it when it comes to pleasure, because understanding each other on a spiritual level is far more pleasure-inducing, and again - not in a sexual manner.
