from what i studied like 5 years ago, you usually need a ridiculous amount of training data to get anything which produces sane results, if you're training a neural network from scratch to do anything very specific, but it was sometimes possible

maybe techniques have improved
that would probably be the best way to do it for a skyrim mod, since a trained model that specific (even though it would require powerful hardware to train) could actually run locally on the player's consumer hardware, like any other skyrim mod
i remember hearing something about artificially generated training data awhile back, which sounds crazy
