For all its crimes, Christianity had introduced one very powerful idea - of linear progress, that through work on society and yourself and by vanquishing evil, humans will reach eventually a new Heaven on Earth. This same idea of linear progress toward a New Eden underlies even the scientific and atheist revolution - if we vanquish religion we'll reach singularity - and the leftist movement - if we vanquish inequality and fascism, we'll reach a social utopia. Even /pol/ shares this mentality - if we vanquish jews/leftists/perversion, we'll have a new utopia. The idea of linear progress, of struggle against a negative force - be it paganism, religion itself (Reformation, Enlightenment), ignorance, racism, depravity - is the reason why white countries were and are ahead of the world.
India lives in a different world. For them, time is cyclical; everything repeats itself; there's no reason to struggle, to change, because things are as they are because we're living in the downswing (the Kali yuga); it'll get better in a few million years when we'll enter the golden age again. It's closed, self-defeating philosophy. Things are shitty because we live in a shitty time; no point in improving.
