>In China you MUST report good results to your higher ups. If the numbers(economy/growth) are not perfect and ever growing they might literally kill you. So people lie and cheat. Making Ghost Cities that will fall apart in 5 years is a form of this cheating. At first glance you seem like a successful CCP mayor since you have loads of tall buildings, that was your assignment after all. But it's all smoke and mirrors to scam the next guy into buying the lie. Even if your boss KNOWS it's a lie he has to answer to HIS BOSS. So he passes the lie on and he might even get promoted to the inner party where one can rape tennis stars at a whim.
>Just like when you buy something made in China and it looks real, like a good working product. But it breaks after a few weeks...so basically it's worthless. I bought some $20 Walmart shoes once and after a week the soles of the shoes just separated from the main shoe in one solid piece. No glue in the world would fix them either. Basically no wear on them they just fell apart, scam shoes. This mentality is ingrained into almost every aspect of their society. You have to allow people the ability to fail. Only through eventual failures are we able to find a true state of success. In China failure is "losing face" and basically social death as well as real death sometimes.
