https://archive.palanq.win/bant/thread/19025861/#19028174As the night drives onward at Club Cyberia, even Andi Kestrel expends energy in a maelstorm of dancing motion. Finally, sweating and breathing heavily, she leans against Robyn McDaid's strong frame and twirls a fingertip in a stray lock of her purple hair.
>"Damn this was a great time. Seems like only yesterday, we were barely scraping by, with your sister-in-law out to get me and all that debt and nothing to our names. And before I got here, I was crashing on couches or sleeping in the bed of my truck, eating gas station food. Now look at us. Out here living the good life, two main event wrestling stars on top of the world. And whatever happens tomorrow, we had the time of our lives tonight. And we'll always have each other."Struck by a moment of sentimental feeling that is at odds with the music and the club atmosphere, Andi grips Robyn's shoulders and looks at her with a smile.
>"Because everything we did together and accomplished here is real. I got used to drifting around, and told myself that no matter how bad I fucked up I always knew how to land on my feet and get by, so it didn't matter. I guess I was scared to have anything good in my life because I'd just lose it. I grew up thinking I was just gonna screw everything up, so I'd better enjoy good stuff while I can. You talked about me inspirin' you, but seeing how you stood your ground and kicked ass and found a way to win when you had no other choice showed me that it was possible not just to get by, but for things to just be BETTER, and maybe we deserve it, and maybe that's how it's supposed to be. Now here we are, y'know?"Andi lets her arms fall to her sides, a little sheepishly.
>"Heh, sorry if I'm getting kinda weird. I'm just happy, is all. We'll get our challengers and keep this going for a long time to come."Andi squeezes Robyn's hand.
>"I'm kinda tired. Ready to head back and call it a night?"
