How to escape poverty? I have never owned a car or a home. Always working BOTTOM tier jobs for minimum wage. Never really felt comfortable. I have no family with money or property. I don't really know how to progress in America and it is getting me down. I have my HS diploma, but no further education. I am intelligent and I think that I am a decent person, so I want the "American dream" of financial stability. Any advice for a poor American? I am a legal citizen with a job. It just doesn't seem to get better no matter how much effort I put into my work. I am just upset. I want to be doing better, and I see everyone around me is able to afford homes, cars, phones, etc., but I struggle to keep myself clean and fed. I don't feel comfortable asking friends or strangers for advice in this matter. :(
