especially if they have kids or are on some kinda "temporary work" kind of a stay. even if they spoke bulgarian they would be more comfortable / understand better in greek
and they can't really know when there are bulgarians around anyway, and if those bulgarians aren't trying to learn greek and would prefer to hear / speak in that language
i hear there is an "orthodox church of america" or something, but it's not fully recognized, i assume they would speak in english, maybe check them out
