Faber Castel pencils by far, a combination of HB for sketching and a really greasy one like 8B for actually drawing - other brands' pencils are just oily while FC is greasy and smooth. Lithography pencils are also very good for sketching since you get a really nice black similar to ink if you press heavily.
For pens, stylographic is unbeatable but small brush tips get you a similar effect with less effort
