Pure intellect("Sophia") is that which reflects(its a feminine archetype); love is that which acts(masculine archetype). The fact that man is usually more intellectual than woman does not signify that the intellect is a masculine principle. On the contrary, rather: man, being physically masculine is feminine from the psychic point of view, whilst woman, being physically feminine, is masculine in her soul, the intellect is the feminine imagination is the masculine principle. the Spirit, it is neither intellect nor imaginaion, but Love-Wisdom. (note that spirit literally means "air" as in respiration, spirit is the very principle of life, plants and animals both HAVE SPIRIT!)
in other words wisdom is considered a femenine archetype because its the "reposed contemplation". the Templars had a devotion to the femenine... "Hagia Sophia" "saint wisdom", "st George slaying the dragon" because the dragon is chaos everything that constricts the mind all the "lower passions", the "dragon" has trapped the muse Sophia(wisdom) the knight has to slay the dragon to get to her ("slay" the chaos and all the impurities that impide acces to Sophia/wisdom, this painting or icon should include Sophia to be complete)
