it's this paradoxical idea that gender is a societal construct and the sexes are identical so there is no "masculine" or "feminine" yet somehow being able to decide your pronouns and be recognized as the "correct gender" is supremely important. just pick one, either gender isn't real so none of it matters and anyone can do whatever they want or gender is real and you've been "assigned" the wrong one
