Of Russia's 15,000 tanks in currently (at least 5,000 are in storage), at least 3,500 are T-80s of all variants. Of which 500 are believed to be newer models in active duty and 3,000 old outdated ones in storage. Ukraine also has used its T-80s in the Crimean crisis. Russian built T-90s are the most modern Russian tanks to be used in actual combat, and make up the vast majority of Russia's active duty tanks currently. T-14 Armatas are not expected to reach more than 500 units in service for at least another 8 years.
