>>11622482yeah. the situation i was referencing earlier, for example, was that the professor was advising i take an upper division language course about japanese culture to fill out some time and get credits which for 90% of people is a great idea since japanese is pretty low credit major so most everybody finds themselves needing to fill out a bunch of electives to reach the hour requirement to graduate.
since i came in with a bunch of transfer credits, though, i'll meet that requirement before i finish all my required classes. that's not necessarily apparent though since it's only true if you include the hours for introductory japanese 1 and 2 which are only "required" as prerequisites to intermediate japanese; they aren't specifically classes you have to take before they give you the degree.
so it's not necessarily some super complex web of numbers, but when a random professor is expected to skim over my sheet with a major, concentration, minor, and almost 100 transfer credits then tell me on the spot what courses i should take it's pretty unreasonable to expect them to put that all together.
