Ferrari isnt great either but Porsche got fucking destroyed by the American cars, particularly the Corvette in SCCA racing
They lost every single race for 3 years in a row, over 50 total, Porsche got so butthurt they dropped out of SCCA racing forever after that

Corvettes dominated Porsche so hard in racing that Porsche whined for them to be banned

The Vette utterly dominated the podium in the Playboy and then Escort Endurance Championship from 1985–87, relegating the Porsche 944 Turbo to a cameo role in the series.
