Someone convinced the Victorian prudish Americans that if you chop that bit of skin off it stops men from jacking it.
It doesn't work.
Due to how widespread it became (to stop jacking it) dad's did it to all their sons because at first they didn't want to raise perverts, then it turned into "happened to me so it should happen to my son."
It's so weird to me how tradition works in human minds.
It's like no one even tries to think of the why, or whether the method is worth continuing.
