>>18460231Throughout the match, Colby Jefferson has been focused hard on defeating the woman who has beaten her twice now. At times, it seems that C.A.M.O. is on a whole different level, and nothing that Colby can do will be enough to overcome her. Other times, she feels victory so close at hand that if a move had connected with a little more force, or if she had just found the opportunity to land one more blow, or if Mare Equine had been out of position, Colby might have had her.
In the end, due to her obsession, Colby is the one who is out of position.
The referee's count reaches three while Colby Jefferson is brawling on the outside of the ring with C.A.M.O., and a brief look into the ring shows that it was Mare Equine pinning Amy Flame. Colby immediately stops fighting and takes one more long stare at C.A.M.O., full of disappointment and resignation, but also a newfound respect. This will hurt for a long time. Immaculate Connection has been beaten at every turn during their rivalry with Warhorse, including this climactic final match. Despite their best efforts, they will leave the ring tonight with nothing.
Well, not nothing.
Colby enters the ring and helps Amy Flame up and out of the ring. She grips her softly, leans in close to her ear, and speaks so that Amy, and no one else, can hear her over the cheers and fanfare of Warhorse's victory.
>"Let's go."Immaculate Connection yield the ring to the victors and their celebration, and proceed back up the aisle, defeated and ignored, their dreams of tag team greatness hopelessly dashed for the foreseeable future. There will be time enough to consider what is next for them soon, but for now Colby wants to be far away from it all, far away from Warhorse and the titles and the arena and the crowd. Far away from everything and everyone except Amy.
