It's a shitty ideal to seek the best of things. It ruins feelings because the seed of doubt is planted. I'm talking about those silent but heard thoughts like "He/She's ok but I know I can do better"; "Damn, I like how he/she speaks with me but I have a higher education, will I be the provider in the end...?"; "He/She is out of my league. I don't even like such culture." and others.
The illusion of choice is what ruins today's society. You think small villages from the past had this kind of problem? No, they had other problems, like "Lucy's daughter drowned in the well so you'll have to wait for Bethany to turn 15 in order to marry. I hope the plague doesn't catch either of you."
Finally, "playing around" is a corrupt mindset. You feel good for the moment but in the long-term - you will get depressed. You will feel desperation. You will feel worthless.
The reason for this is your instincts. You seek reproduction. Nurturing. You can suppress that by having casual sex but you will always feel like something is missing. Your DNA speaks.
Stopping an addiction or drug (sex including) is impossible from the get-go, but I advise you to start using less and less until you finally find something worthwhile to invest your efforts in.
