That doesn't mean we follow his spiritual example, although TODAY (Forgiveness Sunday) we actually commemorate the expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise. So it is important to understand the mindset of Adam, and the fact that he is the only man right now (alive or dead) to actually know what the fullness of Paradise and constant communion with God was like, and subsequently the immeasurable and indescribable sorrow of what it was like to experience it and then lose it, and for his entire race of descendants to lose it as a result as well. Poor man. We should aspire to that kind of sorrow.
