I would be very happy if some friends talked to me again, but I can be difficult to talk to sometimes. I'd stop ranting to have them back, but they'd counter with I should stop ranting first which is fair and yet they were arm's-length with everything and everyone. None of my ranting ever applied to them. If the worst people in the world tell you they're working to make things better for everyone, they're still the worst people in the world, and reifying their systems is a choice which makes you no less human and no less wonderful. It just reifies something you know will be terrible.
