>>16022213I can't look up about that particular season now, but, I do have thoughts on baseball. Why are some baseball players considered legendary, and stuff? Especially pitchers. Like, it's just throwing and catching a ball, and whatever. Can't literally anybody do that? I think you could call over just about anybody off the street, and place them in a professional baseball game in the place of somebody throwing the ball, and nobody would notice the difference. Right? Maybe you have to run and stuff while playing baseball, I don't know. Then, just call over a fit looking guy from the street. And, just, what is impressive about it? Do you have to train very hard to be a pitcher? What, you spend hours and hours on end throwing a ball as hard as you can? There's no way that it's anything that special.
Damn, imagine living in that time period. You could've just practiced it more than anyone else and gotten really good at throwing balls, and then gotten famous and rich for it. You could've became a household name and have people selling cards with your face on them today for dozens of thousands of dollars, or at least that's what I imagine they go for nowadays, simply because you were really good at throwing a ball. Wow. I could've done that. But I doubt pitchers are that well regarded, then. Is it really anything more to it than throwing a ball?
If so, no wonder they really don't like baseball outside of America, it just comes off as dumb to anyone not already into it, you know?
