The reason for the decline in the bar/club/party scene is undoubtedly the advent of social media smartphones. A large part of the fun of the party is allowing yourself to "get retarded". You do this now and you'll be all over social media getting shamed. Another factor is how Gen Z vicariously lives through their social media, it's almost as if it's an extension of their Being. It's tough to have a good time when everyone is trapped in their smartphones and worried about their "image"
