I need advice on getting a lawyer.
>take in orphan kittens>ask online if someone more experienced can take them temporarily until they are weaned, at which point I will take them back>woman experienced with kittens offers to help, seems good and trustworthy, meet her and she seems nice>now she is saying I need to fill out an adoption application to get them back, and that other people are giving her applications for them too>strongly implying that she thinks it's up to her whether to give them back>even though they are my kittens and she agreed at the beginning to return them (which I have proof of)I am hoping that if I jump through her dumb hoops of filling out the adoption application, she will give them back to me voluntarily (they aren't weaned quite yet so there is still a little time). However, if she refuses to return them to me voluntarily, I may need a lawyer.
I am thinking and hoping it won't have to come to that and she will return them to me voluntarily, but I want to be prepared just in case.
If I do need a lawyer, what type of lawyer do I need and how do I go about finding a good one?
In the last thread that hit page 10 (
>>395665143) someone recommended bailment lawyer. On /his/ someone recommended small claims court. Which is a better bet? Anything else I should know?
I am in the United States.
Thanks!
