Congaree National Park in South Carolina features one of the largest, continuous, highest canopies of old-growth trees in the US. Many of the trees here are taller or older than any trees in the US outside of the redwood forests of California. There are a bunch of named trees.
The entire southeastern USA was like this at one time, now this park is the only continuous swath remaining of this type of forest in the entire world.
