It can easily be done away with, or at least specific absurdities like corporate personhood can be done away with. In very early American history there were no corporations. 70-80% of men were self employed artisans, and the rest were, small businesses, guilds, joint-stock companies, partnerships, and cooperatives. That's the way it really should be.
