Appreciation is the goal itself for me, so I just move to the next problem and ignore whatever they already give me. This is what reveals my true character eventually - I'm not actually satisfied with anything, no matter how good I'm doing.
Yes, I want them to think I'm the best, but I'm never actually satisfied with what I get. I do get mad at being assigned low value, but I'm pretty good at turning people's opinions around and deflecting by this point, as well as devaluing them myself. I'm more concerned with people I consider to have high value themselves, so the task becomes to devalue them.
