With that said, there's little question that men found paintings of nude women captivating for carnal reasons. That desire was considered acceptable because it was directed toward a subject worthy of desire, and also because there was another legitimate reason for portraying nudity, namely the glorification of the human figure/beauty/god's image. Now that those legitimate reasons are invalidated by Modernism, all you have left is the carnal justification, which is why you now have the nudity=porn phenomenon.
