>>14181041but it's not actually out of nowhere no? the whole point of the flashbacks is that he's verbally explaining it doesn't really hurt anyone if he sits around jerking off to anime and feeling sad all day while showing us that the real problem is that everyone pitying him so much enables him to wallow in his own despair forever. then the greyrat guy comes in to tell him to get up to make a point that nobody is even trying to reach out to him, which allows him to eventually escape thinking about himself for .2 seconds. when he does that he decides zenith is doomed if he doesn't go looking for her.
it's not even like he's greatly enthused by this prospect or believes his great powers are necessary to rescue her but simply that nobody else will be bothered so it would be evil of him to keep sitting around as apposed to before when it didn't really matter. the situation hasn't made him any less sad or competent, but rather forces him to act despite these feelings.
well if it's a whole ass book i don't really want to read a translation and LNs are still pretty difficult material for my current level. i'll probably read it or re;zero after naga
