>>20261046>mega chordi do mean a chord with a lot of notes, exactly. the added notes are not to reinforce the harmony itself, or to add color to the chord, but to add extra harmonics, which help in producing a richer sound. the concept i am trying to explain, is that a synth is not limited harmonically the same way a piano is. i think of it as an instrument in it's own right that requires it's own unique approach inorder to maximize it's potential, but then that potential only really matters within context, and i only understand things from the context which i operate in, so take it with a grain of salt. it may help or harm.
honestly, my approach can only be considered as controlled chaos, like splattering paint onto a canvas until something sticks, so i don't really know what i'm doing. these vague musical philosophies i've picked up from simple observation guide me more than any textbook will. they are strong opinions to me, but also strongly subjective, which is why i bring up the point that what applies to me may not apply to you. they're simply ideas to consider, and it is your taste which will guide you most, i think, so you will arrive at your own unique approach, which may or may not look like mine. to be fair, i relish in the difference my approach has brought me, as it's not completely cookie cutter, nor mainstream. i think that's almost the essence of creation, but to talk more about it would be like becoming a snobby connoisseur of my own farts xd.
