That's what makes it all the sadder is that he didn't get to finish his lifework, and he died in his 50s.
At least when other mangaka or directors get old and die, they've at least finished their manga or anime and their fans have so many things to celebrate and look back on.
Miura died before finishing Berserk. Berserk will never be finished, or at least his assistants will finish it but it may never be the same.
If someone like Tomino were to die tomorrow, at least people can look back at tons of different finished series and remember things fondly.
