From the change in Paule's demeanor it was clear to Amy that her words had perhaps rattled the young rookie. Amy wondered how receptive she might've been to a similar speech at the beginning of her career, she probably would've taken it about the same. Sooner or later Paule will learn the truth and although she hadn't set out the hurt the rookies feelings Amy hoped that taking the heat now by playing the villain would in some small way make it easier for her down the road. There are part of the business that just aren't taught, the betrayal, the heartache, the loneliness, the bitterness, the jealousy, the physical pain and the mental anguish, if people knew how tough this life could be they'd run home screaming before taking their first bump.
As Paule turned her attention to her coach Amy took the opportunity to roll out of the ring and headed for the locker room. As she glanced back towards the ring neither Ash nor Paule seemed to have noticed she'd departed.
"This is fine", Amy muttered to herself.
She allowed her mind to wander for a moment to Priscilla and Nikki who almost certainly saw Amy as a potential rival. Amy and Nikki are 1-1 after all and Priscilla's recent training session may have been a test to see if Amy had the potential to challenge her. Just because you're rivals doesn't mean you can't be friends, right? And what of Colby Jefferson? As a competitor she'd surely be curious over who'd come out on top in a match? Amy had no desire to fight her friends but there's always a chance someone might book them against each other and nobody involved would be satisfied with a half-assed effort.
It had been quite the day.
