>>13418084The ones I've worked with, are expensive as fuck, but those are an overkill for this project they can lift thing way beyond the scope of this project and still are more quiet than a quadcopter, which was the point. As for something smaller, new, as of now: few thousand. Used - less. Build by yourself, even less. It's 1 motor per axis, and that ultimately dictates the price, the stronger the motor, the higher the price. And to have a robot that supports its own weight at each joint, is going to be expensive. If it can be done via hydraulics, then I can make any estimates since I know nothing about hydraulics.
The thing you should be asking is how much you think a far more complex robot that walks is going to cost? I'm referring to your earlier comment where you said you'd actually have it walk. I don't think those will be free, but when they become more popular, the price will lower, but that price drop will affect prices of robot arms too.
