The word Arya means noble, and is used for anyone who follows and exemplifies the Vedic culture and its values. Has nothing to do with race. There were Vedic sages of every color and ethnicity, because the Vedas aren't some religious books, but an encyclopedia of Indian philosophy and knowledge. The word Ved literally means knowledge.
