YuGiOh is the superior intellectual game for not only it requires the judgment and prediction ablities that chess does, it also requires you to plan before the game starts by building a deck and establishing an emotional connection with your hands. Not to mention trading said cards can turn in a profit, you can't do that with chess pieces.
