>>18118455Fifteen years ago when Real Food (Bay Area) CSA started, we only sold Claravale Raw Milk. They were one of two raw dairies licensed in California. Christina’s desire to make raw milk accessible to more people in the Bay Area, and selfishly for her own small children, was the start of a growing business. From the start Collette Cassidy and Ron Garthwaite, owners of Claravale Farm were kind and welcoming. Over the past 15 years as RFBA has grown, Claravale has always been our mainstay product. Over the years Claravale Farm has been though many ups and downs: from having to move out of Santa Cruz County due to permitting issues, to pressure from big dairy corporations to close raw milk dairies, to changes in laws and regulations, to COVID. But Ron and Collette have always supplied their raw milk. Early on they made it clear to Christina, that cows never take a day off from milking and so neither do their farmers!
Sadly, last Saturday, Ron took his life while Collette was at the Farmers Market. We know you probably have many questions but at this time there are no concrete answers. There will be a memorial of Ron’s life this Saturday, July 15th at Claravale Farm for those who wish to pay their respects.
