They should teach basic home repair, how to dress well, speak properly, how to stick to a budget, how to cook healthy meals, how to stay fit and healthy, how to save for your retirement, etc.
They teach useless math because the answers are easy to grade. It's either right or it is wrong. They teach math because it's simple to teach, there is a method, a process, and you just substitute variables. They teach useless math because it is cheap. If you were teaching basic home repair, you need plumbing pipes, dry wall, sandpaper, etc. With math, you just need a screen, some paper, some pencils.
There are some careers in which complex math and geometry is used. But those careers are few and far between. Wasting years of general education on differential equations is burning precious youth for absolutely no reason.
