Why do boomers get offended when we aren’t stressed by work?

My boss yelled at me over some trivial things. Then said that I wasn’t emotionally invested enough in our projects and that if I did get fired up about it, he would find someone else that would.
Why do boomers feel the need to get so emotional over work, it’s literally just business. I don’t care if I got fired and would love to switch teams, but I cannot take another day of his whining. Also he has a black grandson.
