seems to me like that's one of those things that doesn't have any english equivalent so there's no way to translate it, not necessarily that it's a real "loan word." sort of how a kimono is a kimono because what the fuck else would you call it. with skosh for example it comes from the word "sukoshi" meaning a little, but in english it's just used the same way as a dash or a pinch so it's distinct from the japanese word.
