It's a great supplement but what OP said isn't really my experience.
I use it because I have had TMJ for years after having my wisdom teeth removed.
Since I started taking magnesium glycinate my TMJ has reduced about 80% and my teeth are finally aligning.
It does relax me slightly but not nearly as much as other supplements I use such as cordyceps or reishi.
Also it makes you poop a lot. If you take it daily then the poops start to balance out, but when you're new to magnesium glycinate expect to have a lot of hot brown rain.
The diarrhea effect is amplified if you take it while drinking alcohol.
Overall it's amazing if you have TMJ or muscle tension, but if you're looking for relaxation/better sleep then I recommend cordyceps in the AM and reishi before bed.
