>"Sola Fire. Didn't think you were the type to pick up a girl when she's drunk like this? You oughtta be ashamed of yourself. See how you feel about that when you're sober, and maybe we'll talk."She'd gotten hints that maybe Sola Fire had a crush on her earlier in their meetings. Carmody feels Sola's warmth against her, and her breath on her neck, and starts to get flushed. She could get used to this, if they were both sober. At least she seemed comfortable, and there didn't seem to be much risk of Carmody, or the back seat of the Raguber, getting puked on right now.
Back at the Dojo, Carmody half-carries Sola to the room where she's staying, helps her into bed, and leaves a glass of water beside it.
>"I'll catch you tomorrow, all right? You'll probably be pretty hung over but, hell, me too."Carmody tousles Sola's hair teasingly, then steps out and into the main hall of the Dojo. She wants to get in the ring and train right now. Sweat some of this alcohol off. But in this dress, it's absolutely a no-go. The best she can do is to get herself a glass of water and stop by the restroom, then head out and back to her apartment.
Before she goes, she can't resist looking in on Sola one more time.
