>>15791769Anno doesn't seem to be right-wing. He likes militaristic stuff but Miyazaki despite being a pacifist also seem to like militaristic things. And Miyazaki is a huge leftist. He doesn't seem to be left-wing either although Evangelion seems to have some pro-feminist messanges. The only thing I know is that the essenes and Adam Qadman were namedropped in the beta material for Evangelion. It was implied that Seele were the essenes and this would make Seele jewish since the essenes were a jewish sect. The Seele members look more like how the japanese portray white people rather than a portrayel of jews. I think Anno was just inspired by other conspiracy stuff at that time and maybe Kabbalah was mentioned there somewhere when Anno got ideas for his series. The series Nadia that Anno directed before Evangelion seems to be left-wing. The atlanteans are dark skinned and their power base was in the middle of the Congo jungles. Sound a bit Wakanda-esque. There also seem to have been anti-racist themes with the Neo-Atlantis people, with them looking like the KKK. But when it comes to Nadia Anno wasn't originally supposed to direct it but Miyazaki. Which means that maybe the left-wing aspects of Nadia weren't Anno's ideas.
